Tools for tracking dealer gamma and GEX levels

Read dealer-positioning and gamma-exposure (GEX) maps as research context — not a signal to fade or chase.

By Last checked

Dealer-gamma / GEX software shows estimated market-maker or dealer positioning across strikes and expirations — walls, zero-gamma / regime labels, heatmaps, and related exposure panels. Vendors use different models and names (GEX, gamma walls, market-maker exposure, HIRO, and similar).

This is levels / exposure research. A wall or regime label is a vendor calculation, not advice to buy or sell, and not a forecast that price will pin or break. We do not claim that reading dealer gamma improves returns.

Use this job when you want a GEX or dealer-positioning map as context next to a chart, payoff diagram, or flow tape. Do not treat a heatmap as a trade from this directory.

How to use this list

Pick by fit: levels-first research seat versus GEX as an extra on a flow dashboard, free or trial on-ramp, monthly dollars you can confirm on the vendor page. A listing is a job match, not a ranking. Prices below come from each tool’s verified price list on our review. Confirm on the vendor site before you pay. If we don’t have an affiliate link for a tool, the button on its review goes to the official site.

The grid at the bottom of this page is the catalog membership for this job. The numbered section is the live reviews whose product story honestly names dealer-positioning, GEX, gamma levels, or exposure heatmaps.

Tools for this job

1. SpotGamma

Options dealer-positioning / GEX-levels research: Founder’s Note, FlowPatrol, Key Levels, Equity Hub, Compass & Scanners; Alpha adds HIRO, TRACE, and a Volatility Dashboard. Support lists Essential $99 a month and Alpha $299 a month (annual $891 / $2,691). Pro $129 is unconfirmed. Free on-ramps are Free Daily Report / FlowPatrol and free tools (including a gamma-exposure chart), not a $0 full-dashboard week. Fits people who want levels-first GEX research as the primary seat. Skip if you need SpotGamma to be the broker, a live unusual-options tape as the only job, or verified Canadian-listed coverage. We don’t have an affiliate link for SpotGamma. Full plan table: SpotGamma pricing. See also SpotGamma alternatives and SpotGamma vs MenthorQ.

2. MenthorQ

Futures / equity gamma levels, Q-Score, Swing Model, and Trading Dashboard. Vendor UI shows GEX among Q-Score sub-scores. Verified Premium $129 a month; Pro $349 a month (annual cards $1,164 / $3,108). Pricing pages publish a 7-day money-back path; secondary first-month intro coupons are paid intros, not free forever. Fits traders who want gamma-levels / models research with education and Discord on the same seat. Skip if you need a free full-seat week, a flow-tape-first product, or verified Canadian-listed coverage. See also MenthorQ pricing, MenthorQ alternatives, GEXbot vs MenthorQ, and SpotGamma vs MenthorQ.

3. GEXbot

Live naive GEX ladders (Classic) plus classified-volume State / Orderflow profiles and Quant API feeds; optional Research (gbR) add-on for on-demand US optionable coverage. Verified offers (pricing page + plans API 2026-09-25): Classic $50 a month ($450/yr); State $150 a month ($1,350/yr); Orderflow $250 a month ($2,250/yr); Quant $350 a month ($3,150/yr); Research $100 a month ($900/yr). TRIAL50 is 50% off the first month of Classic / State / Orderflow monthly for first-time subscribers: not a free forever seat. Fits people who want engineering-style live GEX / positioning analytics (including 0DTE / 1DTE horizons on docs) rather than Founder’s Note or Academy packaging. Skip if you need a broker, a free full dashboard, or verified Canadian-listed coverage. Our GEXbot links are affiliate links. See also GEXbot pricing, GEXbot alternatives, and GEXbot vs MenthorQ.

4. OptionsDepth

SPX/VIX dealer-positioning / MM-exposure research built on exchange participant-tagged CBOE data: gamma / charm / vanna, MM exposure heatmaps, Depth View, custom dashboards, Discord. Verified offers (official /pricing 2026-09-30): Pro Max $249 a month / $2499/yr; TWI×OD Combo $375 a month. No free plan or free trial on official pricing. Fits people who want a true GEX / dealer-positioning specialist focused on SPX and VIX (FAQ: not all US equities). Skip if you need Equity Hub-style multi-ticker coverage, a free trial, a live unusual-options tape as the primary job, or verified Canadian-listed coverage. We don’t have an affiliate link for OptionsDepth. Product fit verified: yes for the dealer-gamma job (SPX/VIX focus). See also OptionsDepth alternatives.

5. Profit Builders

Real-time US options-flow scanner with a dedicated GEX Heatmap seat (strike × expiry grid, gamma walls, zero-gamma / regime, squeeze detection) plus Flow Scanner and Pro Bundle. Verified offers: GEX Heatmap $39/mo; Flow Scanner $99/mo; Pro Bundle $129/mo. Card-required 7-day trial with due today $0. Fits people who want a checkout-priced GEX heatmap alone, or flow + GEX on Pro Bundle. Skip if you need a no-card trial, a yearly plan, or verified Canadian-listed coverage. We don’t have an affiliate link for Profit Builders. A gamma wall is still research context, not a trade from this directory.

6. Unusual Whales

Unusual-options flow tape first; paid dashboard cards also list a GEX heatmap for all US tickers and SPX market-maker exposure (10-minute updates on Basic / Pro; 1-minute GEX Periscope on Max). Free is $0 (options flow 2 trading days late per the pricing page, 2026-09-30; whether the free account shows the GEX heatmap is not stated). Paid: Retail Basic $50, Retail Pro $75, Retail Max $120 (USD/mo). Fits people who already want the live tape and also watch GEX / MM-exposure extras on the same seat — not a levels-first research product like SpotGamma. Skip if you need a broker, a verified Canadian-listed chain, or dealer-note commentary as the primary job. See also Unusual Whales alternatives.

7. Quant Data

US options order-flow dashboard with Options Exposure (dealer positioning across strikes / expirations, including Delta, Gamma, Vanna, Charm) and an Options Heat Map (metrics including GEX, DEX, VEX, CHEX) on the same Standard seat. Verified offers: Standard Monthly $74.99; Standard Annual $62.50/mo billed annually; published 7-day trial on the Standard cards. Fits traders who want live flow and dealer-exposure panels together. Skip if you need a permanent free dashboard, SpotGamma-style Founder’s Note research, or verified Canadian-listed coverage. We don’t have an affiliate link for Quant Data. Acronym expansions for GEX / DEX / VEX / CHEX are thin on the main site — treat app-store / API surfaces as the source when you need expansions.

Also in this job (newer / not fully reviewed yet)

We have not published stub-only directory entries tagged for this job. Official links only appear here when we have an unreviewed product story to point at — none for this wave. Tagged live tools that do not center dealer-positioning / GEX as a named surface stay under Related below. No invented prices.

These help next to a GEX / dealer-gamma map. They are not substitutes for a dedicated levels or exposure product unless the review says they also run that surface.

  • Cheddar Flow — Live unusual-options tape; Professional / Pro Annual cards add gamma exposure (and dark-pool) on top of Standard. Primary collection: scan unusual options flow. Standard trial then $85/mo; Pro $99/mo; Pro Annual $75/mo billed annual. Treat Pro GEX as an extra on a tape seat, not a SpotGamma peer.
  • Study IV surfaces: IV rank / skew / term structure as context next to levels.
  • Scan unusual options flow — Live unusual-options tape. Different job from dealer-positioning research.
  • Trade 0DTE: Same-day expiration study; some GEX products are used next to 0DTE work.
  • Screen for high implied volatility — Name lists by elevated IV; a high-IV list is not a GEX map.
  • Visualize an options payoff — Draw a structure after you have context.
  • Market Chameleon — Browser options analytics (IV, earnings, multi-leg screens). Not a dedicated dealer-gamma / GEX product on the live review — listed here so you do not confuse an IV screen with exposure walls. We don’t have an affiliate link for Market Chameleon.

Canadian readers: public GEX / dealer-positioning products are typically built on US-listed / OPRA options and US index underlyings. Canadian-listed coverage is unverified for each tool unless a review says otherwise.

Notes from a merged comparison

Free GEX tools for options traders: free gamma charts from Barchart and SpotGamma, MenthorQ’s free account, and which GEX trials are real. Not financial advice.

Which dealer gamma (GEX) tools you can use for free, what the free part actually includes, and which “free” offers are really paid trials or first-month discounts. Not a ranking, and not financial advice.

You can see a basic gamma exposure chart for free. Barchart has a free Gamma Exposure page for each optionable ticker, and SpotGamma has a free SPX gamma exposure chart that updates daily. MenthorQ has a free account, but its gamma levels sit behind the paid plans. If you want a full GEX dashboard for free, the honest route is a free trial: Quant Data and Profit Builders both run 7-day free trials that include their GEX views.

Also covered: Trade 0DTE (same-day expiration)

0DTE (zero days to expiration) software helps you watch or study contracts that expire the same day. Typical pieces include a same-day expiration filter or tab on a flow tape, a short-dated / intraday backtest, or a scanner you can set to today’s expiry.

This is research and watch software. It is not a broker race, not an execution-speed ranking, and not a commissions comparison. Same-day options can expire worthless in hours. We do not claim that watching 0DTE prints or replaying short-dated rules improves returns.
